Running for two

Just in case you’re not tired of my updates yet, I forgot to mention I PRed by over 7 minutes. I’ve been trying to beat the dang thing since I set it almost two years ago with my first half.

I’m loving all the pictures my running club took, even if I look like a total nerd.

Today’s run was amazing. I was so worried since we did our long run Monday. I wasn’t sure if my muscles would be recovered. Apparently they were. My stomach has also been funny, but it held it together.

My first 11 miles were all sub 9! I’ve never run sub nines for anything over 5! I couldn’t believe it. The last three miles kicked my butt. I tried to push it, but my body was just like ‘hell no. This is all that’s left.’ I was okay with that though. Besides a side stitch, I felt really good the whole race.

The weather was perfect. My body felt great. My new shoes felt good. The girls had a babysitter. Seriously one of the best races ever. It is my favorite half. Probably because it’s smaller and all my friends run it, so it’s super encouraging.

Keith was amazing. He placed in the top ten, and he was second in his age group. We were the second place husband/wife team.

I do not think I can keep this pace for my marathon, but hopefully I can keep it close! I definitely need to start slower.

16 weeks down, 2 to go. Wait. 2? Eeek!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!
